Does it sound like my ex still has feelings?

My "ex" and I dated unofficially for about 4 months but were serious (met families, friends, traveled together, etc). There ended up being a huge misunderstanding and we both got hurt/lost some trust/ and then things got broken off (by him). We didn't talk for 3 or so weeks then I reached out to try and fix things and we actually did, and decided to be friends and see how much we talk. He said he wasn't pursuing anything romantic. But meanwhile we've been snapchatting a ton (17 day streak now, we're also best friends), snap messaging as well, and last night he drunk texted me and called me hun (only called me that while we were dating) and said I was a sweetheart. Today, we've basically been snap texting all day about just random things going on in our days. I don't know if I'm just thinking too much into this and if he's just being friendly or that maybe he still has feelings. I still have feelings for him bug it's kinda tough. I'm really happy we're talking but it's just confusing. Since we're just supposed to be friends right now I also don't wanna make things awkward or screw anything up by asking him directly.
