My boyfriend of 3 years proposed to me. Finally!

It was very sweet.

My son was at his fathers and I came home from work after a long, stressful day. (I work in a law firm).

I walked in the door exhausted and he was leaning against the kitchen counter. I asked what he was doing(he’s usually relaxing after a long day) and he blurts out “I got you roses!”

I looked at the vase and sure enough there was a bouquet of white roses. I couldn’t think of any reason as to why he got me flower so I asked why...

Without missing a beat he says “they’re the same colour your dress will be..” and pulls out a ring “will you marry me?”.

Girls! I have been waiting my entire life for this moment. I’ve always dreamed of getting married and having a large family.

Of course I said yes and we both cried. A lot.

And then we told my son the next day who proceeds to yell to his Mimi “I got a secret Mimi! Mommy is getting married with Nick!!” And then “nick has a crush on mommmyyyyy”.

My heart melted.

Nick has been the greatest step father to my son. He’s been in his life since he was 2 years old. He took courses on how to care for him and attends every medical appointment with me. My son is a type 1 diabetic and was diagnosed at 13 months.

Nick takes turns with me getting up to check my sons sugars throughout the night, we take turns giving insulin injections and counting carbs...

He’s the greatest man I’ve ever met, he’s my best friend, he’s my FIANCÉ!!! 💖💖
