Airplane rules regarding toddlers over 2?

Help a mama out! I have searched, but the rules are very vague. Do I need to put my 2 year old in a car seat in the plane or can we go without one? We are flying delta domestic for probably no more than 2 hours.

Dont need a car seat. I just travelled with my 2 year old. She got her own seat

Ive flied with my kids when they were babies alot. They will door check there seat. But the plane is way to small for a car seat. They wont allow you.

They don't typically require car seats but your child should absolutely be in one. It's the safest place for them to be. I'd never ever travel without it.

You don’t need one, and we don’t bring one. Maybe on a super long flight but it’s just so much to haul with kids and car seats, especially since you don’t need one.
