idk what to do!!

I like this guy but Ive never dated anyone and I’m pretty sure I’m in the friend zone, like we talk at school and we Snapchat it’s just that he flirts with a lot of girls so idk. Also he told me other girls are cute when we were talking abt who we thought was cute, but then he called me hot behind my back so I am very confused. He’s kinda a flirt but any advice?!! :) I just wanna know if he likes meeee and I CANNOT ask him lol. I know this seems so minuscule but I’m just looking for advice:)
