Need some clarification

So I never got information about my cervix checks with my daughter. I remember I was 1cm until true labour started but I didn’t know anything about effacement with her.

I got checked today at 39+6, and she said I was extremely thin and short, still 1cm but she could feel my membranes/water. Then said she didn’t think I’d make it to my next appointment (in 5 days).

What does that mean? Does that mean I could go anytime? I’m unfamiliar with what feeling the membranes could mean

for anyone who’s been in the same situation, how long did it take for you? Hahaha. I was 4 days late with my daughter but I didn’t get the 39wk appointment so I have no idea where i was with her at the end
