CVS Test?

Question

I have a CVS test booked for in 2 days time. I'm a carrier of a genetic abnormality which can cause Patau syndrome so extra screening is needed in all of my pregnancies. I had an amniocentisis with my first. 
Does anyone have experience of CVS? I've heard it is more painful than amnio? I'm a little bit anxious to have it done, but given the risk I'd much rather know!
Any experiences or advice welcome!!

I had a cvs for this pregnancy. Everything came back normal. I’m now 20w along.
Mine was abdominal. The injection was more painful than the actual procedure. It was more uncomfortable than anything else. When they took the sample I had a bit of hip pain but that was it.
The more traumatic thing for me is my medical curiosity outweighed anything else. So I watched the whole thing on the tv. Do not recommend. Have the ultrasound screen pointed away and the tv off.
The wait was the worst. I do recommend if you have the option (and depending on what they’re looking for) to get the FISH results. It takes 72 hours excluding weekends and gives you an early piece of mind rather than waiting the full two weeks. 💙

Hello, I’m booked in for a CVS this Thursday and I’m super scared. Mine is for a genetic test for HD which is 50/50 chance.

How was your experience? Mine is booked for a week from tomorrow.  The NIPS test didn’t pick up the abnormality that led to my last missed miscarriage.  We’re hoping this is our rainbow.  It’s my fifth pregnancy...no babies yet.
