Will I be able to go home on my labour day

Do I give birth at hospital and then go home or do we have to stay in for a few days

If you have a vaginal delivery you will stay for 2 nights. C-Section you will stay for 3-4. You can talk to your doctors about leaving after 24 hours though.

If you go to a birth center they send you home the same day but I’m pretty sure the hospital makes you stay at least overnight if not longer

When I had my c section I had it done on Saturday and was out on Monday. I hate hospitals and begged to leave. Once they checked that I was all good they let me head out asap.

I stayed in for 4 days due to catching an infection and my LO. I found it helped staying in as the midwives taught me how to breastfeed. I struggled the first two days and then I did it and I was so pleased with myself. They also didn’t let me leave until my daughter put on some weight even though she was born 8Ilbs 3 however she went down to 7,9. Also they wanted me to poo before I left? 💩🤣 I remember being so scared to do this haha. It was fine though your first poo after child birth is so soft. It’s when you first wee after vaginal birth jeeeeezzzzz the burn is a killer. Stings like a Mutha F**ker.

Where I live, they keep you for 24 hrs. Although with my daughter I didn't deliver her until 11:30 p.m so they obviously don't release you at 11:30 the next night so I had to stay 2 nights in the hospital. If you have a c-section I beleive they keep you for 2 or 3 days.

At least 24 hours for a vaginal delivery. There are certain test they run on baby exactly 24 hours after birth. (Like hearing test etc) 
Also, keep in mine if baby is Jaundice you might have to stay. That kept us there an extra night. I had him on a Tuesday and we got to leave Thursday evening.

I had a hospital birth with no complications and we stayed for 24 hours. 
It is all facility dependent. You can refuse care and go home early but you will have to sign a release form and be informed of the risks. They won’t hold you hostage. 
C-section is a major surgery so most people have to stay 2-3 days as the complications are more life threatening and the risk is higher.

At the hospital the keep you for a night.  My son stayed til 4days in NICU and we were able to keep our room to stay near til he was discharged. My son was born 9:32pm on a Thursday I was discharged. 11am on the Saturday. But kept the room. My son was discharged monday at 11am. If he didn't go to  NICU we would have been both discharged the Saturday cuz I had him at night they need to wait 24 hours after birth to run certain tests and apparently don't like discharging people at night 😂
