Baby #4 Born at 38w6days

Jessii

It’s a boy!! Born at 38w6days on 3/7/19. Edd was 3/15/19

8lbs 5oz 19 1/2 inches.

Head full of hair. No heartburn.

I went in for my 38 week check

up on 3/6/19 still had no signs of labor. I was at 1.5cm (same as a couple weeks prior). So we scheduled to have an induction for Friday the 8th which would of been considered full term at exactly 39 weeks so it was just 2 days away. I figured I’d have enough time to finish up some last minute things on Thursday the 7th. However... in the middle of the night 2-3am I felt that first sign of discomfort I blew it off and said to myself not now I’m tired and still wanna sleep. I feel back asleep. Then again I woke up to that same feeling. Uh oh! I just knew here we go. We are not going to make it to Friday the baby is coming today. I started to time them and they were about 15-20 min apart since 4 am and then followed by another about 2-3 minutes. So it was like 2 contractions back to back. I stood in bed then took a nice hot shower. Got my kids ready for school. I was having contractions through all that. My car was parked up the hill. Great! Smh. So I literally had to walk to get my car. Had a contraction when I got to my car. I was like mmm hmmm. He’s definitely coming. I drove back down to my house to get my purse and make sure I saw my 5 year old off with Grandpa. I couldn’t wait any longer for my fiancé to come so I figured I’d drive myself but I was hungry and I didn’t wanna be told I can’t eat so I drive to the McD drive through first and am literally having a contraction while I’m getting my food at the window. I then drove to the hospital straight up to valet. I was having contractions while driving so they can park for me. Realizing I never even called and gave my midwife a heads up. But oh well I told security i need to go to labor and delivery. They took me up in a wheel chair to ob triage as they pushed me in I saw my midwife and was like heyyyy !!! I’m here now. Lol. Got into the room and I was told to undress so they can connect me to the monitor. I was having contractions so close through all this. It was getting painful and annoying. By this time it was only about to be 9am. The midwife came in pretty quickly to check and I was at 5cm and my water bag was right there. Mind you I had my food there I only had like a sip and a bite on my way driving. The nurse was like I can’t eat it. Go figure. But I wasn’t in the mood anyway by then I was so uncomfortable with the contractions. I had so much on my mind. I couldn’t get ahold of my fiancé. All I can think is he’s going to miss the birth. They take me back to labor and delivery and I ask for the epidural through my contractions I kept saying I had to poop. The nurses were trying to get everything ready and had to draw blood before I can get the epidural they struggled so bad to find a vein it took 3 different people and they stuck me 6 times popping veins. (I literally still have black and blues on both arms 9 days later) so as they poked and poked I was still without an epidural. The. They finally got it in my hand like I had asked them to do in the first. I kept saying I had to poop. Sometime shortly after getting into l&d within all the chaos in the first 40min They had checked me and Im at 6cm. When it was time for the epidural he struggled and was literally playing in my back. I was so annoyed. Where did they find this guy??? Were they serious?? I just prayed because just like they struggled with my arms he was struggling in my back. Finally after prayer he got it and I was having contractions. I continue to have contractions. My fiancé finally showed up. Smh. I wanted to choke him. He’s lucky I’m a Christian. Thankfully my best friend was there for me as well just Incase she was keeping us all covered in prayer. A true blessing. 🙏🏼

My contractions eased up but still felt them. By 12 ish They checked me again and I was at 9cm so they asked me to give a small push and see and that will help get rid of the little lip that was left. I pushed a couple times and she said to let them know when I was ready to push. They leave the room. In that time my fiancé decides to play doctor and takes a look for himself he puts on a glove and checks. He felt something, he’s not a doctor was hoping he didn’t feel poop. Lol. but I knew it was the baby. So I give a push and he felt the baby come down then go back up. In that time we already called for the midwife. So I then suddenly felt I needed to continue pushing the pressure was real. By the time they all come in I’m pushing and by 1:12pm my little blessing was born. Through the pain and all I still ended up laughing on my last push. The midwives were like “that’s a first” lol What an experience. Start to finish 9am-1:12pm baby #4 was born. He came with a head full of hair. #Blessed #Thankful

9 days old. 💙
