Devastated

V

I am absolutely devastated. Our fridge in the basement stopped working and all my frozen breastmilk has to be thrown out...I can’t stop crying. Over 200 ounces. Gone. I know that’s so stupid to be crying over but pumping and freezing is such hard work. And I had an oversupply so I was also donating my extra milk. What an absolute waste. So much milk could have gone to sick babies in the NICU.

Plus now I have to transition my LO to whole milk with no transition period. I am still nursing at night but what do I do if my husband needs to give her a bottle to sleep now that there is no breastmilk? Do you heat up whole milk just as you would breastmilk?? I haven’t pumped since she turned 1 and I wasn’t planning to pump anymore but continue to nurse at night and in the mornings. She usually takes a sippy cup of milk at daycare so I will have to send whole milk to daycare.
