Makeup?

I don't know if I'm posting this in the right forum. I feel terrible for this but I'm 23 and know nothing of makeup at all. My mom wasn't really one to show me and honestly my makeup wearing female friends are out numbered by my makeup wearing male friends. That and I love far away from the ones that do wear makeup. That and I feel that everyone just assumes I can because well I'm 23, so I never ask because I don't want to be judged. 
But anyway I think I'm looking for a product. I want something that smoothes and evens my skin tone on my face, maybe even helps my freckles. But I just want that, I'm not looking for foundation. Something that will enhance my natural beauty.

Go to the mall, they usually have a MAC and sephora store, you can also go to ulta. They will show you the basics and put makeup on you, but a few things and watch YouTube videos, there are a lot of amazing makeup artists who demonstrate how to use makeup! Practice makes perfect.

Get a bb cream or a tinted primer. Doesn't have the weight of a foundation but hides minor flaws and evens skin tone

I personally use Mary Kay products because they're top quality, not as expensive as its competitors and have hypoallergenic ingredients. Plus, if there's a product you buy and it doesn't work out, you can get your money back or switch out the product which comes in handy (: worst feeling is wasting money on makeup that doesn't match your skin tone or you don't like the colors on you! Don't be scared to try makeup if you want :) My mom hates it and has never worn it because she doesn't like how it feels on her face. However, it's a great skill to have if you work in a professional office and she encouraged me to try it.

My aunt taught me how to apply makeup for my 18th birthday and bought me a ton of foundation, blush, and eye shadow. She is a career woman and knows how to do it for a work environment. You could have one of the makeup counters in the mall do your makeup for free. The ladies there may have ideas on products for your skin as well :)

I suggest your first stop should be YouTube. That's how I learned how to do makeup 8 years ago and now I do it as a side job. I love makeup, it helps boost my ego a million times over and my bunny loves it when I can get glam. I think natural beauty is about perspective, the more you learn about makeup the more you tweak your technique. What seemed natural for you in the beginning will change the more your makeup knowledge evolves. But I live in NY and beating your face, at least for the circles I run in, is apart of being a well-rounded, fierce female so I think it also depends on your surroundings.

I use bb cream. It's a pretty faint tint and is moisturizing and has sunscreen. It lets my skin breathe and I don't break out from it :)
