How much did you or are you paying for Maternity photos?

I reached out to our wedding photographer and she is asking 400 for a shoot. She is REALLY good mind you- she travels extensively to do shoots. Plus, I adore her style-which is  gorgeous. However, we are on a strict budget as I won't be paid for my maternity leave. Please share your thoughts!!! Thank you!! (P.S. I attached a photo from our wedding to show her photography)

$400 is a very good price. I'm a photographer and there is a lot that goes into the process,most people just think your paying a ton of money for someone to click a button. If the photograph is good,gives you several different shots, styles and so on then usually they are worth their price. And it's a plus if you have worked with them before,seen their work and know how they operate.

$0! All anyone needs is a good friend and a nice camera! Photo shoots shouldn't have to cost a fortune. 😀 My mom will probably be taking our pictures. My mom takes beautiful photos- she wanted to start her own photography business but never did. She's taken my engagement pictures, and maternity photos for two of my children. She's also taken lots of our "baby's first holiday" and birthday photos and they've turned out amazing!! And we get to keep he entire memory card, print whatever we want, and print at our leisure as our finances allow!

I'm lucky I have a friend of a friend that's guna do mine for £25. I did ask a photography place but it was silky prices. I got to do then fast as I've only got 18 days left eeeekk!! Xx

I'm not paying anything. Pregnancy is beautiful. But it shouldn't cost extra money. You can easily take your own pictures and make them beautiful. It's all about getting the right angle and right lighting.

I'm paying 700$ for both maternity and 4 hr newborn session. I would def invest more money in the newborn shoot than the maternity.

$350 for maternity/family and then a newborn. I had a photog lined up that we used in the past and he wanted $400 (prices had gone up). I would suggest doing research on other local photographers- look at photos/talk with them/find out pricing. If you find someone similar who charges less, I'd do it, and if after researching, you still like your wedding photographer the best and can afford it, then do it. (I should also say that we got all edited images to use as we wanted and there weren't extra fees like some photographers do).

I am paying 200 for our announcement shoot which is for 60 min and 8 edited photos. I also want to do a maternity shoot and newborn shoot. Maybe a waste of money but I am only 8w5d now and I think the fall scenery in NY is beautiful. This is my first baby so it's important to me and worth it. Something to have and remember forever.

We got a package deal paying 300 half for  maternity photos and half for newborn photos and her photos are awesome
