Has your eye sight gotten worse while pregnant?

I have gone from being able to see my stove clock from across the kitchen to not being able to see what time it is from 10 feet away. I'm not sure why but it's only gotten worse while I've been pregnant. Otherwise I don't normally see the difference this quickly. I've had glasses since I was young, so bad eye sight I notice.

Your eyes actually retain fluid during pregnancy which distorts your vision. Your vision will return to normal after the baby is born so don't bother spending a ton of money on new glasses!

Mine has not... So far. My SIL did have that issue. Unfortunately hers was permanent and she had to get new glasses after my niece was born.

Yes but only when i am wearing my contacts not my glasses. I have read that contacts don't fit well sometimes once pregnant because your eye shape can change. I would imagine eye shape could effect your eye sight in general. Hopefully it goes away like most pregnancy induced weird symptoms lol

Since getting pregnant, I have had to stop taking my Lutein pills. Macular degeneration has impacted three of my four grandparents and Lutein is supposed to help strip the cells from the back of the eye that cause issues later in life. I have taken Lutein for years and I can definitely tell the difference. Pregnancy changes your eyesight temporarily but I feel I have the double impact. I can take Lutein again after I am done breastfeeding and I am ready to get it back but I know I will see some change in a few months after delivery. Don't stress over it unless you actually can't see. You vision should return in a few months, at least that's what my doctor told me. Good luck!

I'm a COA (certified ophthalmic assistant). You could go get your eyes checked now, but more than likely your vision will go back to normal/change after the baby is born.

i changed my license to a different state, and couldnt pass the eye test without my glasses 😑 so now i have to wear glasses when i drive
