Is metformin worth it?

I started taking metformin 750mg two and half weeks ago at the recommendation of our fertility doctor for insulin resistance and boost weight loss. Apparently my sugars are in normal range but just barely. No PCOS either.

The first day I had serious diarrhea and but mainly since then I just feel all around crappy and exhausted. I was on whole 30 before I started taking it and now I’m on Keto because I can’t tolerate more than like 40g of carbs per day.

Metformin has definitely curved my appetite but I’m having trouble eating enough calories. I know, woe is me, but everything I eat makes me feel like shit. Super gassy and I’m always worried I’ll be in a situation where a bathroom isn’t immediately available.

Since I’m trying to lose a healthy 2lbs/week my calorie goal is about 1,310 and since starting the metformin I have a hard time even reaching 1000. I feel like I can’t eat anything and I force feed myself but my meals just don’t have enough calories. I used to snack on a banana or a green apple but now those upset my stomach too much. I’m just so tired, physically and emotionally. It’s been a year of trying including a miscarriage late summer.

My biggest worry is that if I don’t eat enough I’ll reduce my chances of TTC on top of it all of this. My cycles are usually about 35 days with ovulation at CD21-23 but has been as late as CD29 and that’s only reason I feel I’m continuing to take it. If it regulated my cycle that means more chances to try in a shorter period of time. I just needed to vent and will take an advice/positive vibes anyone has to offer
