When did you first hear your babies heart beat?

I’ll be 9 weeks on Thursday and have my first ob/gyn appointment Thursday morning. I’m super nervous because I’ll have to talk to a social worker since I’m only 17, kinda just wondering what the first ob/gyn appointment was like for you guys so I kinda know what to expect. Thanks guys!

Why do they make you talk to a social worker? On an ultrasound I heard and saw a heartbeat at 6weeks 3 days but on the doppler I think it was 10 weeks

I would go in with an open mind toward the social worker— they can be extremely helpful! I’m not a SW, but have interacted with medical SWs because of my adopted daughter who has medical issues and I was so grateful for their help. They can get you into services if you need them and might even have knowledge about childcare options if that’s something you’ll need after you give birth. 
I hope that didn’t come across as a lecture— I just don’t want you to miss a potential resource that could be beneficial!

9.5 weeks with the doppler at my OBs office. 7 weeks via ultrasound.

Via ultrasound at 10 weeks. I’m not sure why a social worker is necessary but you should talk to your doctor and they can answer any questions you may have. Might schedule an ultrasound.
