Nipple confusion

Ok. So, this is my 2nd baby.. I breastfed my first. My 5 day old son is having real difficulty wanting my nipple. He latches on to his pacifier fine, though. When I put him to my breast, he just frantically moves his head back and forth. I’ve sandwiched my breast and tried different hold positions. My boobs are getting full and starting to hurt.

I really don’t want to introduce the bottle yet, but if I HAVE to I will.

Note: I did NOT want to use the paci, as we didn’t with our first. But he immediately started sucking his thumb. It’s much easier to take the paci away than a thumb (obviously).

Any advice?
