What do contractions feel like?

Question

27 weeks, have never felt a contraction despite having children. What do they feel like? Where does it hurt? 
I’ve never had period cramps so I can’t relate to that description.

Your whole uterus tightens and even with Braxton Hicks it can be uncomfortable. But real contractions keep getting stronger and more frequent and don’t go away, whereas Braxton Hicks won’t. 
But it kind of feels like your belly is a bag of frosting. You know when you’re piping frosting and you put it in the bag. Then you start pushing and squeezing everything down to the exit. Imagine your uterus is the piping bag and the contraction is trying to push frosting down and out of the tip.

Honestly my contractions felt like period crMps/ gas pain from mild - moderate- intense and then at the hospital I stuck through it till it was too much and let me tell you it is fucking PAINFUL . But lots of women seem to mentally overcome the pain and do labor with no meds(I think theyre psycho but to each thier own) I got an epidural at 5cm. Just reme your prize at the end of the race doesn't change if you decide to get assistance (epidural/ pain meds) or not but one is most certainly more pleasant than the other 😬

Basically around your lower Hips it tighten up and let lose every time ! And they get strong and strong and hurt more and more around your hips (sorry for spelling )

The whole uterus tightens up and if you don't feel pain then it's a Braxton Hicks which is nothing to worry about. Unless they are happening regularly every 4 to 5 minutes for an hour straight
