Doctor doing perineal massage?

Do all doctors do a perineal massage while your in labor? Or is it something you would have to request?

My doctor didn’t believe in that, ended up switching to midwife and she said she recommends it and will do it for me if I like 👍 I bought perineal balm by Mother Earth and have been doing a bit these past few weeks

My doctor didn’t do it, in fact my doctor was hardly in the room when I was in labor. It was just me and my nurse and my mom.
You should start doing it 2 months before your due date with some oil.

It never came up with my first pregnancy. I’ve never heard of a doctor doing this.

Not something I want. It’s painful then. Do it yourself with primrose oil before birth. Like a week or two of it. It helps soften.
