Labor or membrane sweep?

I had my membranes swept about 3 hours ago and now I’m having cramping every 5-10 minutes it feels like. Could this be from the membrane sweep or labor? I don’t want to go straight back to the hospital to be turned around, but it is getting pretty uncomfortable! I was told I’m 3cm and 80% effaced

Could be either one. I’ve had two friends who had a membrane sweep and went into labor within a day.

You need to start writing down when each one starts. 5-10 minutes apart is still pretty inconsistent. When they are a steady 5 minutes apart call L&D and let them know. You will know if they are true contractions by that time. Having your membranes swept can trigger labor but like I said it’s still not regular enough. Go eat and take a warm shower and go for a little walk. If by the time your walking and you need to completely stop for each on then it’s probably active labor pains. Hope this helps and good luck.

I went into labor about 4-5 hours after I had mine done, started off as mild cramps and then got stronger and were 3-5 minutes. I waited about an hour after got stronger and then went in was around like 8pm and had my baby at 4am

Time your contractions and keep track so you’ll have a better idea of what’s happening.  Five to ten minutes isn’t consistent yet. Best wishes!

Either membrane sweeps usually put u into labor though. Start tracking your contractions. Good luck
