Per blood test, I'm having a boy. I had a normal checkup today and the heart rate was much lower than last time. Is this normal? What could cause this? Should I be concerned?

My midwife told me babies heart beats slow down/regulate the older they get and their nervous system starts taking over

Could be he was moving around a lot for 170 and then maybe he was sleeping when it was 140.

My little lady’s heartbeat measured at 174 at 9 weeks and 152 at 13 weeks...doc said it was completely normal to slow down a bit as they grew 🥰

This always happens with my boys. They both had very high heart rates at the beginning and as the weeks passed, it got slower!

I’m sure it’s fine. As long as your doctor isn’t worried you shouldn’t be either. I know at the beginning of my pregnancy my daughters heart rate was normally around 165. It’s dropped down to around 145 the further along I got.
