Will be out of work for 3 months should I TTC ?

Here's the thing, I'm having surgery on my hip in 9 days I will be out of work for 3 months. Before I was injured I was trying to conceive, I was told this surgery won't take long to recover, but I will have to do physical therapy for about 2-3 months. I really want to conceive before I go back to work. The next time I can try either after surgery, or the next month.

I have never had hip surgery but I had shoulder surgery and thought I would be okay to try 3 months after and I didn't even consider trying till 7 months after. It was a simple labrum repair but it took me over 6 months to feel "normal." I know it could take months to get pregnant so trying soon after surgery is tempting but don't rush. Pregnancy puts a lot of stress on your body and does different things to each woman. I cannot tell you how long to wait but I would wait till you know how long you need pain meds and make it through PT. Pain meds like Tylenol are cleared for pregnancy but even that had negative research against it. Just take your time. I know your clock is ticking but you need to take care of yourself in order to be in tip top condition for pregnancy.

I would wait to give your body more time to heal. I broke my hip five years ago and my hip still bothers me from time to time, especially now that I'm pregnant.

If I try in October, and it actually works that month, I'd have be about 8 weeks along, when I return to work...  I know I'll be on pain meds right after, so, that's probably not a good idea at all, so I'm thinking trying the end of October would be a lot better. (Depending on recovery of course!)
