Birth story of the little muffin!

So on Oct 8th at 1 AM, I had just gotten into bed, super comfortable. I started feeling a bit of pressure down there like a balloon pushing out of my vagina and then POP; water started gushing!

I took one moment then said to be husband, "I think my waters broke."

I have never seen that man get up out of a dead sleep so quickly! He grabbed me a towel so I could waddle to the toilet as it kept leaking every time I moved.

I called the midwives who told me to put a pad on and go to the hospital. When we got there it was probably about 1 30 AM and they confirmed my waters did break but since my contractions were so small I was sent home and told to return at 4 PM unless something happened before then.

So we went back at 4 PM and still nothing was happening so I was given the choice to see if the contractions start naturally or be induced at 7 AM on the 9th of Oct 2018; I choice to be induced by pitocin.

I did alright and my husband was there with coffee, muffins and heat packs the whole way. I was checked at about 2 PM and I was 4 cm dilated. That was when the contractions really started to kick in so I opted for an epidural.

At about 6 PM they checked again and was 10 cm, I actually made the midwife double check because I was not ready yet! We waited an hour for baby to come down before starting to push at 7 PM.

In that hour that we waited, my epidural moved and I was entirely unfrozen and believe me I felt eveything including that ring of fire! My midwife and student midwife coached me the whole way the beautiful superwoman they are!

James Theodore Davis was born at 7:54 PM on the 9th of October 2018 weighing 3.5 kg (about 8.1 pounds). He rated at 9/10 on his APGAR test and is the most beautiful thing I have ever done!

I had a deep 2nd degree tear and ripped inner labia.
