Nipple shield for breastfeeding ?

Somebody tried those ? It seems good

Yeah I wouldn't use them. Once that baby comes out it should go straight to breast. If you try that, your nipple, a bottle and binkie all at first it'll confuse the baby and you'll have a hard time. Stick to just you :) takes practice but don't give up and stay patient

My experience with them was a life savor! I have very sensitive nipples, doc said because my nipples are so light in color, my son had a very strong suck so the first day he tore up my nipples even with a good latch! With these I was able to feed him well and not be in excruciating pain! I also made sure to talk to the breast feeding consultant and she incouraged me to continue

I used a nipple shield for 16 months. My son had a small mouth and just couldn't get a good latch. So we used the shield and I never saw the need to wean off it. He liked it I still got bonding time with him through breastfeeding. If you need them don't be ashamed to use them. Breastfeeding is hard work and sometimes you need a little help.

I had to use the shield at first as I have inverted nipples, but try to breastfeed without them first. I only used them because I had to, and then it took a while to get baby weened off the shield and just suck on the nipple.

They suck!!! The baby gets used to it, you leave it at home, baby refuses to latch without it...you have a hungry screaming baby until you get home. Sorry, don't bother with them.

I used them to begin with because the lactation consultant in the hospital recommended it. I was having painful latches and have an inverted nipple. They did help, but I quickly wanted to stop using them. I became too dependent on them, you always had to make sure you had one, they fall off often, hard to find in the middle of the night, etc. I saw a different consultant and she showed me how to work my one inverted nipple and I didn't need those shields anymore! Breast feeding was still hard, but one less thing to deal with!

I had a great experience with them
When my nipples got blistered and scabbed. It was extremely painful to nurse and the nipple shield was a life saver. I only used it until they healed however. My son never had any issues switching between that and just my nipple.

Unless there's a medical reason to be using them they're not all that great. My daughter had a tongue tie so it was excruciatingly painful to breastfeed until I had it clipped so it was a life saver for me but they're super inconvenient. They're hard to store, hard to keep clean, and baby can become dependent on them. Luckily for me my daughter didn't have a problem latching once I stopped using them but she did absolutely refuse to take a bottle once she got used to not using the shield. All together just not worth the trouble if you don't have to use them.
