Husband doesn’t encourage me to do better
I’m currently on maternity leave for another 10 months. My current job is kitchenhand at a nursing home making $15.80/hr (usd). When my baby is around the 4 (about 2 months from now) month mark I want to enrol in a course. Really thinking about a child care course that takes 6 months for certification online. Starting pay is about $7/hr more than what I’m making now. I was talking with hubby yesterday saying “I don’t want to work at the nursing home basically doing dishes for the rest of my life. Next thing you know I’m 40 and still working there”. His response was “our bills are getting paid so what if you’re still working there”. He doesn’t get it. I’m so unhappy there, and I want something better for myself. Now that I have some time off I should take advantage of it and do something! I just wish I had support from him. He always does this now I feel scared to take the leap from one job to another.
