Should I take his advice ?

My ex boyfriend is the father of our baby. He claims to only want to be involved if we are in a relationship together. We live in different states. He has threatened physical harm to me , said he’d kill me etc . Told me he said it just out of anger but it’s been an ongoing issue with him and I for the past year maybe more . I feel torn because I’d like him in his sons life but I’m scared . I had two attorneys advise me not to block him, but to ghost him and his family and only worry about him if he ever took me to court . he was not there for birth nor is he on the birth cert. what do u think ?
