What do contractions feel like? Vs BH

At my last drs appointment she asked me if I've had any contractions- I said no (because I'm pretty sure I haven't. I mean...in my mind they're very distinct and id have no doubt. But really, I have no idea what contractions feel like. )
From what I've read is that they start very mild and gradually become more obvious. Whatever that means. 
I get  BH daily. But, for all I know I wouldn't know the difference.

My biggest fear is that I'm going to be in labor and pass it off likes its nothing until it's severe. 
In fact, I know that's what will happen.

Its like intense cramps it's normally accompanied by back pain or pelvic pressure , you will certainly know when you're having it trust me.

Progressively more painful cramping that usually comes at regular intervals - usually starting like 10 minutes apart then closer and closer together. Once I hit about 4 minutes apart with my first they really started getting painful. Like the kind of pain you want to throat-punch your partner for making you suffer like that.

I feel like this too. I have been having BH for ages now and sometimes they're quite strong but not painful exactly. I wonder if they turn into actual labour pains I'll realise... Pretty sure I will when they're 5 mins apart 😳

You will know when you feel it its unmistakable and unstoppable like someone is wringing you out at the waist

I've heard they feel like intense period cramps and get worse and worse as labour progresses. Next time your worried about it, see if you can time them. From my understanding, real contractions will be consistent.
