Help me maintain my mental health
My mental health severely suffers when I don’t sleep. Last night was rough and it took all I had to contain physical signs of frustration. I just kept thinking about leaving so I could have a life in which I am not a mom. Please pass along your wisdom to help me save my mental health and my by extension my marriage!
Our son is 10 months old. He has always been a good sleeper. I would say 75% of the time he goes down well at bedtime and sleeps through the night. The past two weeks, he has not been sleeping. He screams so hard and only stops when we hold him (although even last night that didn’t help). We’ve taken to sleeping on the couch with him just so everyone can sleep.
We have a solid bedtime routine and have for months (in bed around 7:30). He has goes down without being rocked or held to sleep. He has 5-7 Nuks in his crib so he can locate one at night (last night he just kept throwing them aside). He has 4 teeth but didn’t behave like this when he got them. We tried laying him back down (he stands) and rubbing his back or stomach, we tried letting him cry for 4-5 minutes (at midnight it’s hard to last much longer). His room is 67 degrees and he only wears fleece pajamas.
I am at a loss. I’ve read many people online having similar issues but no one provides help. I want to enjoy being a mom. I want to have everyone sleeping in their own beds.
