I thought preschool was free?🤨

I just got done filling out all the paperwork and at the very bottom it says tuition agreeement🤦🏼‍♀️ Now my husband doesn’t wanna send him “early”.. he turns 3 in 5 months. I figured the 2 day options would benefit him and get him around kids his age.. they are only two hour classes. What should I do?😣

It can be free, but it depends on your area & where you go.  Where I live, there are 2,000 spots that are free to low income families.

Preschool is usually not free. Sometimes Pre-K is free through the school system, but even that depends on which state you live in. There are differing options on it, but having worked in preschools, they are unnecessary for most children. Join a moms group and go to library storytime to get some social interaction. The rest you can teach at home through play based learning.

I worked at a daycare. The only way you would be able to have your child go to daycare free would be if you were low income and had a voucher. Or, if you were a teacher in the same daycare.

Not all preschool is free. The center where my son is, and where he will go to preschool, is roughly 230/ week for the preschool class. That’s with my workplace discount.

Where I live it’s only for lower income families. Otherwise you have to pay for daycare. I stayed home with my oldest until she went to kindergarten. She’s always been ahead and is now in first grade but second grade level! I’m glad I stayed with her...I’m doing the same with my 2 year old!
