What do you do when baby gets hurt?

What do you do when your baby gets hurt? Do you say something like, "It's ok! You're ok!"? Do you distract them and pretend nothing happened? Do you attend to them and let them cry while acknowledging their feelings? 
My 8 month old is at the stage where she's getting injured more often (now that she's so mobile) and I'm curious about the best way to respond to her.

When one of my kiddos gets hurt say M falls down she's 3...loud thump! 
Me: baby you ok? 
(Note give THEM the chance to say if they are ok or not YOU do not decide if someone is ok or not because to them it may really not be ok especially emotionally.) 
She could say either yeah I'm ok mommy or no I hurt my leg! 
BE EMOTIONALLY VALIDATING saying "oh you're ok" is emotionally invalidating because that's telling them what they are feeling (scared hurt whatever the case may be) is not a big deal at all. Obviously don't loose your shit and freak out lol 
Say kiddo falls and cries. Go over and check "baby you ok?" if they say no or keep crying pick them up and bring them to the couch or comfy spot and say "where do you hurt? " or "need mommy to kiss it?" if its simple like they bumped their head or knee or something like that ask them if they are ok. If you see a red spot " oh I see where you got bumped...does it hurt ?" rather then "oh that looks like it hurts" ask them how they feel about it. 
If they are cut or the bump,is big duh give first aid ice pack band aid you know the basics lol or if there's blood red wash cloth. 
What you can say that's emotionally validating "I know you feel scared and that fall hurt...but look mommy took care of it and it will be better soon " and of course loads of hugs and kisses :) 
Because of how I handle my children my 3 year old can come up to me and say "mommy can we talk about feelings? And I say "sure baby what are you feeling " and we talk about what's making her sad mad scared frustrated or disappointed, Because emotionally validating young children lays a foundation for healthy emotional expression and good communication.

I know this may sound mean but I won't let people go "oh no poor baby are you okay?" In that annoying ass whiney tone of voice. Cause it makes her cry immediately.. .. if no one says anything she usually won't even cry. I only react if she's actually hurt and crying.

Distracts them and makes them feel really good instead of embarrassed or hurt

For our 17mo, if it was a tolerable bump, we say "you're ok" or "don't forget the table is there silly." If it's a bad one, I pick him up and console him as I walk to the freezer and get his frozen teethers or a frozen pouch you can put on a bump. This cheers him right up as well as distracts him.

I just comfort my kids with hugs and kisses and cuddles but tell them they are okay.

I have been a nanny for many years now and I always just try to distract them. Seeks to work really good. Ex.if they fall I ask if they caught the bunny and start looking for the bunny lol. They help me look and then about 3 min after, I give them some toy to play with and we all good. Or just start singing for smaller kids.

It depends, my son is starting to try and crawl and sometimes slides in his face. If he goes about his business after I just go along with it but if he starts fussing or crying I pick him up, tell him he’s okay, and give him a kiss and some cuddles

I comfort her and let her know she's safe to express whatever it is. She usually pulls away once she's better. I give her lots of cuddles and love. Teaching kids empathy and kindness is very important especially at such a young age. You can't spoil kids by giving them love. I have a 10 year old and 2 year old.

It depends on how she reacts. I will say “boom!” in a positive tone to let her know I saw her fall. If she gets upset, I ask her if she’s ok or if she needs me. “Do you need a hug? Want me to kiss it?” If she gets up and moves on, so do I. I never tell her she’s ok because I can’t tell her how she feels! She may not feel ok but really be ok.
I’ll hug her and cuddle her as long as she wants.
She’s so communicative now that I can just say “are you ok?” And she will tell me.

Depends on what happened. If he’s actually hurt I’ll comfort him with a hug and a kiss. If he’s not hurt I just say something like “look out for your feet” or “did you fall a little bit?” I give him a moment to react before I do.
