Diaper party? Opinions? Rude or not? Read description plz :)

I personally think they are rude because then the same couple is forced to buy 2 gifts for the same couple and baby after a diaper party and baby shower. My MIL said I have to have one. If anything, I’d rather throw a coed baby shower. What do you guys think? Rude or not rude?

What my friends did is in the invitation they have there registry and then said they are raffling off a gift to join the raffle bring a pack of diapers of any size. This way no one if forced to get diapers but can to join the raffle.

I don’t understand the point of gender reveals, baby showers or ‘diaper parties’, whatever the fuck they are, so I personally wouldn’t do any. But if you want to I’d do it at the same time, not two separate parties. It’s unfair to ask family and friends to stick their hands in their pockets multiple times for a baby that isn’t theirs 🤷‍♀️

We had two. A chuggies for huggies (beer for diapers) for my husband and his friends and then a baby shower for the females.
People loved it. I’m pregnant with our second and have already gotten requests to do another chuggies for huggies.

I’d rather do a coed as well if I were having one. I saw a post earlier someone threw a gender reveal party and asked guests to bring diapers and wipes 🤦🏻‍♀️ and I’m guessing they’re probably going to have a shower as well so guests buy more stuff for them

I don’t think it’s rude! I do think it’s a little much! I had 2 baby showers just because my mom and dad can’t be around each other but they were both coed

My personal feeling is all showers and parties where gifts are expected to some degree are tacky, but they’re so common. I say go with co-ed

If you don't want to buy 2 gifts. Dont buy two gifts. When I had my baby I had a friend get me 3 gifts. One for my baby showers one for the baby shower they threw at work and one once the baby got here. I appreciated it so much but in no way did I expect that.
