Do i have a right to be annoyed?

My grandparents have a rule about no phones at the table which I abide by because it's basic manners and my parents want to enforce that rule when we have kids. Well I'm pregnant with child #1 and I'm completely fine with the rule of no phones at the dinner table as it's simple manners. I told my boyfriend it applies to us too and he's kicking off.

He says it's not "1970"s anymore and he was "brought up differently" and "they can't control him or tell him what to do" which i find extremely disrespectful. I told him if my family has rules for their house he has to follow them like the kids and he refuses to because he sees it as them controlling him. So I'm now angry he's disrespecting my family and their rules in their house.

I think it's manners obiding by peoples house rules even if you don't agree. Do I have a right to be annoyed?
