18 & moved out? How’d you do it?

If you’re 18, or younger, and have moved out/ are still out, with roommates, college, partner etc id love to hear how you did it

I worked night shifts at a pretty decent job and went to school during the day. Not that hard if you try.

I was 19 when I moved out. I saved money for a while and then used my tax refund for the security deposit, first, and last months rent.

I skipped my junior year of high school and moved to college. Working over the summer in between is a must.

I moved out at 19. I used my taxes for my share of deposits and moved in with my best friend and her (then) boyfriend. I worked 40hrs a week and made about $2 over minimum wage. Then 8 months later I moved in with my boyfriend (now husband). My sister lived with us for about a year and a half and saved up.  She bought a car then saved until she had enough for deposits and necessities. I'm so proud of her! Anyway she's been living on her own since in her studio apartment.

I moved out when I was 18.. I didn’t really have any money saved up but had a job since I was 15. I just worked worked worked. Bills were tight for a few years but I made it work never had to move back home

I started babysitting at 10, I’d spend my entire summers and weekends doing that.  I continued to babysit throughout college, but got my first paycheck job at 15.  I was a saver.  I moved out at 18, bought my first house at 19 when I realized rent was more expensive than a mortgage.  — Work hard, and save!

I moved out at 17, I was basically living with my boyfriend and his roommates (one happened to be my cousin too) because he was closer to a school I went to every other day. And then we planned on getting our own place from there and saved up from our jobs and now we’re moving into our 3rd place together with our daughter and baby number 2 on the way. You just make it happen.
