Do you believe there is a “right” time to get married?

If you both think you found the one, do you think there are certain milestones you should reach before getting married? Or do you think you can be married and reach those milestones while married? Ie: finish college, get your first home together, get a career

There's multiple statistics that show waiting until certain milestones have been reach decreases the likelihood of divorce. Financial problems are often the cause of divorce. So having your degree, a job in your field, and a house already just make things easier financially.

I personally think a couple should be together for a while and live together first before getting married. That's just my opinion though. Couples I know, including myself, who waited at least two years and lived together for the time first have had better marriages and have actually stayed together. I know way too many couples who have started dating, didn't know anything about each other, got married within a few months and didn't stay together.

I think if you both have jobs that could support a family independently and are willing to compromise and work together then being married for the rest of the milestones is great! I don't think that you have to own a house or necessarily have a degree (though i don't think it's a good idea to get married if you don't have adequate income).

If you’re meant to be, then you can get through anything. However, I think if one or both people are going through something stressful, adding a new marriage and adjustment to that can make it harder..meaning it might not be a good time to get hitched?
