Loosing hope....

So I had my first iui 12 days ago and took a hpt this morning and it was negative. I have been having period like cramps off and on all day today and yesterday. My Dr told me to test 14 days after my iui which would be Tuesday, but I was planning on testing tomorrow to see if I would have any different results. AF isn't supposed to be here until Thursday. Should I loose all hope now???? And prepare for another iui???
