am i bein to overprotective?

my sister keeps gettin mad bc i said i didnt want anyone baby sittin my son bc what happened to me (i was burned at 9 months old i had 3rd degree burns on 50% of my body from hot water not sure how it happened the baby sitter just kept lying an my mom had known her for quite awhile) im scared to have a baby sitter i rather put my child in daycare then let someone baby sit him am i wrong? (we live on a military base so my son would goto a daycare of base)

Taking him to daycare is the same thing a having a baby sitter. I would way rather have someone I know watch my child than a total stranger. I'm sorry for what you went through as a baby.

I also worked at 3 different day cares. My kids will NEVER go to daycare.  Having family watch kids feels the safest to me personally, but I do use teenagers now that my 1st is a little older...

I worked at a daycare all throughout college and I'll tell you now, my child is NEVER going to daycare. You'd think that the people you pay hundreds of dollars per month to watch your children would care...wrong. Diapers stolen and placed on other babies, lunches being swapped, not paying attention to your feeding or napping recommendations for your baby, no one on one attention. I'd rather have a family member over a daycare anyday. And things like this are NOT visible on nanny cams. Just honest truth.

I was babysat all the time AND was a nanny and haven't let anyone besides family watch my kids, and my oldest is 5. You do whatever your comfortable with. And why is your sister mad? Unless you aren't letting her babysit.

Not at all. Nothing like that ever happened to me and I still don't want anyone watching him except my mom. He is going to be going to daycare at my moms center also (the center I work at has no openings). I have trust issues as well.
