Why are people so inconsiderate of what they say?

So I'm at church today and my sister's mother in law comes up to me and says, "wow you are looking BIG!!!".  It was already an emotional day and that really didn't help. Why do people feel they need to tell you how big you look?!? Do they not think I don't already feel that way? I'm measuring right at 34 weeks so I know I'm not huge, but it really doesn't feel good to be called huge, big, or you're about to pop!!!!
