Colostrum or milk?

Question

37w.. been hand expressing and storing for a few days. I get anywhere from 2.75ml-5ml but it’s so liquid-y it doesn’t seem like colostrum... :( 
if it isn’t colostrum is there any point in saving it?

It’s colostrum. You really don’t need to express and store before the baby arrives. Your baby will get enough once they’re born and it best to nurse them quite often in the beginning anyway.

Yellow is the colostrum, the white is the foremilk. But I would not recommend it before delivery hun!! You could mess up your supply & force yourself into labor before your body is ready!

What’s the point of doing this?

This is really a bad idea.  First of all because you are introducing bacteria to the milk/colostrum by not allowing your baby to get it directly from the source- & introducing xenohormones from storing it in plastic.  Secondly, because even slight nipple stimulation can absolutely put you into labor- let alone actively trying to produce a supply.   I know this from personal experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.  I went into labor at 35 weeks due to stimulation of my breasts from squeezing my breasts after I began leaking colostrum.  Within hours I started having cramping...then realized uh oh they’re 5 mins apart...& then the rest is history...  I spent the next 64 hrs in premature labor & we did everything to stop the contractions until my water broke at hr 58 & then there was no turning back.  Those were the most stressful, painful, exhausting 64 hrs of my life.  And it all started so simply....   so no- there are zero benefits to doing this....& significant countless risks.
