Hitting and bitting

Recently my son has started hitting and biting, only me or daddy. Mainly when he’s told no or stop by us, or when he is being picked up when he first want to. He doesn’t do this at school (at least that’s what I’m told) or to his grandparents. It sometimes happens when playing with other children, but when we tell him “no” or “nice” he stops.

We’ve tried timeout, smacking his hand and saying ouch loudly, but it doesn’t work! He smiles or laughs! I seriously do not know what to do! And am starting to feel like a horrible mom.

Could it be because he’s realizing I’m pregnant (I know that sounds crazy) or is this just a phase?

Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
