Not showing up for jury duty?

Has anyone not shown up for jury duty and actually been fined or punished?
Edit post: already missed deadline due to no checking my mailbox regularly..

In all seriousness, since it's already past the deadline there's not really anything you can do. You can call the courthouse and tell them you didn't know about it/you were out of town if you're worried about getting in trouble for it.

Try the health and lifestyle room. Cc isn’t an advice room and you can’t post anon here so admin will remove your post. It’s your civil duty to show up for jury duty and in my area you can be punished for not showing unless exempt for medical reasons. Just GO

They can put a warrant out for your arrest. Jury duty is mandatory unless you meet the specifications for being unable to show up

Last year my husband and I both got called for JD a day apart. We both did the paperwork. When the day came 3 months later we both totally forgot to call or show up. No one has come knocking on our door yet 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just get it over with. Going to jury duty will be a lot better than dealing with the consequences of not going so 🤷🏻‍♀️ get it over with and you won’t have to worry about it for a few years

I didn’t show up or go to jury duty once when I received the letter and nothing came of it or happened I just forgot honestly lol
