How bad are cramps after a D&C? How bad should bleeding be?

I had bleeding right after. The bleeding lasted 3-5 days. My doctor told me that it was normal. The cramps were like period cramps. I was told for the first day to hold a pillow to my stomach when I laughed or coughed. I was on some pretty heavy pain killers tho so it helped. But everyone is different through it my sister in law didn’t have bad cramps

Not much bleeding at all but pain after the meds wore off. I think that’s normal.
