The odds of him getting it are low, BUT he CAN pass Zika to you and the fetus via semen. So depending on your level of concern, you may want to opt for condoms after he returns (for 6 months). 
I would think about it like this: would YOU go? If you wouldn’t take the risk, he shouldn’t either (and if he does, he should be willing to use a condom). But if you felt ok going, then proceed. You have to weigh the risk for yourself.

Is there a test they can do when he gets back to see has it? I don’t know too much about it, but if he really wants to go then I would just want to make sure he gets tested when he returns 🤷🏻‍♀️

No I wouldn't worry about it, if you are you can get him checked out just in case when he comes back
