Devices kill natural intuition?

Hear me out, maybe I'm crazy.
But husband and I didn't have cell phones the first 10 years we were together, we always seemed to know what was happening with each other, since getting them for a move and different jobs etc I feel like we barely connect without checking schedules messages etc. Just using this as an example.
But the owlet, the video monitoring and giving little kids cell phones, don't you worry these things take away from your natural intuition?

Umm. If anything the owlet and video monitors save lives.
There's no natural intuition when your babies heart drops or stops. You're not in the room. You don't magically know.

My gut speaks to me regardless of technology. 
In medicine you treat the person, not the monitor. Know how many patients I’ve had with great vitals, superb EKGs and were super sick? More than I can count. 
The owlet was discouraged at my hospital for a lot of reasons, and one was that parents would trust the machine over their gut feeling. Kids can have excellent vital signs and still be on the brink of death. 
I don’t think technology takes away intuition per se, but I do think it can give us a false sense of security or amplify our anxiety.

No, but cell phone radiation does affect the pineal gland. So maybe there’s something to your theory.

I’m not for the Owlet. They’re not FDA approved and not recommended by the AAP. 
But that’s not because it kills natural intuition or anything like that. There are certain things we don’t have any intuition for. There are times our intuition is wrong. There are things we can prevent by using extra measures. Certain devices make it easier to parent safely, and can save little lives. I’m all for parenting using whatever tools you think are best for you and your family. We have the technology available to us, why not use it?

No. There is no intuition when your child heart stops or they stop breathing. 
Just like there is no intuition when it comes to CO poisoning. 
Tech has improved to save lives. If anything it is insurance to make sure people are alerted when something DOES go wrong.

Um.. no. Having a video monitor doesnt take my natural intuition away.. it's a back up, reassurance and gives me peace being able to peak on my baby while I'm wrangling 2 other kiddos lol. I think technology can be amazing for everyone, including young kids.

But one thing that bugs me is the reliance on GPS. I rarely ever use it, even in an unfamiliar town. 
My sister turns on GPS anytime she leaves her house and it drives me nuts. Like you cant find your own way to the grocery store you've been to a million times?

There are risks with technology but I find that some of the technology we have is very useful. I’m still just as intuitive as I’ve always been. In my opinion anyways. Even with my son’s video monitor. Idk why I even use it when I wake up and not even 2 mins later he’s shuffling and waking up. So I think I like the reassurance of it in case I don’t hear him through the night. But if he’s up I automatically wake up he doesn’t even have to cry so it’s a little odd how my mom intuition has been correct over the past 2 years.
