So I’ve had borderline high blood pressure since the 2nd trimester, no treatment required just monitoring it, decreased salt intake and increased my activity level. Well my BP has been heading in the wrong direction- ended up in the OB ER 2 weeks ago with it high (150s/90s), had a full preeclampsia workup which was negative and got sent home after it came back down. At my appt with my OB last week I was told to come to the ER if it is over 140/90 for more than one check at home for a likely induction since I’m now term. Today it was 150-160/90s for multiple checks so in I went. Of course when I get there it is better (130s/90s) for a while, then starts creeping back up. Preeclampsia workup negative again thankfully. So they decide to send me back home with instructions to come back in if it’s over 140/90 again- which it freaking was while I was in the ER room multiple times. What the hell. I don’t understand how it makes sense to send someone home whose blood pressure is higher than your cutoff for coming in?! Rant over. I was happy to find out that I am finally dilated 1cm and 25% effaced, even though I know I could stay that way for a while at least my body is doing something.

Just want to add that I am very glad that my labs are ok and I know it’s a blessing to get sent home. I’m just frustrated and tired of being told different things.
