Skeptical OB Compares Breastfeeding to Rape

So this is Amy, otherwise known as the Skeptical OB. I feel it is important for you to know as a disclaimer that she is not a practicing OB and has not been licensed or anything in over 15 years. She is basically a blogger now who very very pro-medicating everything. She’s against breastfeeding, believes having a c-section is safer for every woman, and does not agree with vaginal childbirths. Feel free to look her up. Needless to say, I view her as too extreme. I think every woman deserves support and to have unbiased facts, and I don’t think she offers that any more than extremists on the other side who judge and shame formula feeding and/or c-section moms so.

Anyhow.

She just posted this, and since I haven’t seen her stuff posted in here before, I thought I’d bring this discussion here. If anyone would like screenshots of the actual article, let me know and I will post them in comments. The gist is because animals in the wild practice forced copopulation, rape is natural. Somehow that is a good comparison to vaginal childbirth and breastfeeding, but that part is honestly lost to me. I think this is a terrible false equivalency.

So what do y’all think?
