Lexapro in pregnancy?

I quit taking it about a month before I found out I was pregnant. But recently my anxiety had just been overwhelming and I don’t know what to do. I talked with my doctor yesterday and she gave me a prescription for it. Today I’ve been reading up on it a little more and the only thing I found was it can cause heart problems in the third trimester for the baby. But my anxiety is so bad I can barely do my job. So I’m torn. I trust my doctor but I’m also looking at the bad too.

Hi! I've been on Cipralex (I think that's the same as Lexapro) for years now. When I got pregnant I asked my doc and she said it's more risky for me to be off of it than it is to be on it. She said the risk of it effecting the baby is so low compared to how stress and anxiety could potentially have an effect.
I am 100% confident in my choice to stay on, but only you can decide for you. ❤️

Lexapro is okay to take. An alternative as well which is very similar is Celexa. That is what I’m on and it works great for me.

I was on a Lexapro and stopped taking it the day I got my BFP. So far so good. But if my anxiety comes but I’ll be starting it back up for sure. The risks are very low. I’m sorry your struggling mama. I’ve been there. Sending healing thoughts your way 💕 hope the anxiety passes.

You should see if you can get on a less risky alternative, your anxiety medication shouldn't give you anxiety, you know? I feel you though I was so anxious until around 20wks then it subsided. If you feel like the let lexipro works for you though and you want to continue it for your health, then go ahead, baby needs a happy momma. ♥️
