Can mastitis feel like the flu??

I’m having flu-like symptoms but I got my flu shot (I know it’s not 100% effective). The doctor didn’t have any flu tests, but confirmed mastitis. 
Could this explain the flu symptoms or is it likely I probably have the flu in addition to mastitis?

YES!! Honestly worse than the flu. The body aches were insane, then the fever. Antibiotics didn’t work for me and I ended up septic. 2 days later I was hospitalized and in serious trouble. Trust your body, don’t push yourself thinking it’s a normal feeling (like i did- I brushed it off thinking I was tired with a newborn).

I had mastitis for the first time with my current baby and Omg, the body aches were killer!!! Even my toes hurt when I'd bend them. I thought the flu too but Dr confirmed mastitis. Then 2 weeks later, my body hurt all over again, just as bad. All I could do was cry. It was mastitis again but on the other breast. Luckily I knew what to start doing the 2nd time. But yes. It feels like the flu.

Yes I had it from my nipple ring and I felt like I had the flu for sure. I went to the ER and yup definitely had it gave me antibiotics 2 a day for 7 days!
