Do you think scratch mittens for newborns are necessary or important?

They help the baby to not scratch their face. Will you be using them?

Yes they are very helpful in preventing scratches and pokes. I was responsible for watching my brother when my mom had to return to work and the mittens were a life saver. Trimming their nails doesn't always work because nail clippers can make the nail even sharper. The minute I would take his mittens off it seemed like he had a new scratch.

If you don't have any and you find your baby is a scratcher you can always use newborn socks on their hands

Depends on the baby. My little guy is constantly going at his face. So we have to keep mittens on him.

Depends on the baby. My nephew used to grab his face all the time so he definitely needed mittens but if your baby doesn't do that then there is no need to have the mittens on
