First appointment at 10 weeks?

So I called my OB today to schedule my first ultrasound, and she told me they are doing things differently and they aren’t scheduling first appointments until 10-12 weeks! WHAT?!? Is this normal? Like what if the baby stops growing or something is wrong and I have to wait until I’m 10 weeks along to find out?! Is there signs of not growth/ miscarriage I should be aware of? 
I get bad anxiety and suffered a chemical in December and all I want is a healthy baby! 😭

Unfortunately if baby stops growing there isn’t anything they can do. Most Mc are bc of chromosomal abnormalities. And sometimes there isn’t any symptoms of a loss. I’ve had 2. Both were around 9 weeks. First one started with spotting. 2nd one I had no idea till my 12 week appt. hang in there and try not up worry too much. Take it day by day- week by week. Look up positive affirmations and mantras. Try yoga, meditation, guided breathing. Journaling. Start a hobby- anything to keep your mind busy. 💕

cramping and heavy bleeding are the first two signs to look for for a miscarriage. doctors don't usually have you come in earlier than 8-12 weeks because if something does happen there isn't anything to do. 
right now it's all in your bodies care. I know it's stressful, but try and relax and take prenatal vitamins and minerals thats a that can be done.

That's pretty normal. I only got an early ultrasound and appointment because my period were very irregular so there was no way of knowing how far along I was

Thats normal. They cant do anything for a miscarriage or is baby stops growing (neither can the ER, so don't go there if you think you're having one unless you think your life is in danger). Its up to your baby and body and nobody can stop a miscarriage if thats what will happen. Just eat right, exercise, stop stressing about it, and take your prenatals. 
Cramping and bleeding are the normal signs of miscarriage. If you have either of those, call your OB for direction on what to do. A warm bath or shower, pain relief medication, and wait it out are going to be the usual directions.
