Surprise twins ?

So has this ever happened to anyone? I’m just curious. You get your dating scan at 8ish weeks and then you don’t have another till your anatomy scan at 18-20 ish weeks , has anyone had there doctor miss the second baby on the first ultrasound or it was sitting behind the other baby only to be revealed at the anatomy scan ?

It depends on what type of twins they are. You wouldn’t see two sacs with identical twins but would with Di/Di twins. I have heard of doctors missing twins that shared the same sac.

I didn’t get my first ultrasound until I was like 10 weeks and you can clearly see 2 sacs right away .
