What do you ladies think

Question

Well I'm 36 weeks and have been having contractions on and off for ten days. I had a doc apt today and the doc decided to do my first internal and she said I'm 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I see her again in 4 days for next apt. Just cause of scheduling. My husband thinks we have another 3 weeks. What do you ladies think and what has been your experience?? Thank u! :)

I would be ready and sitting on go but it could also still be a couple more weeks. Just be ready just in case!

Honestly you can't really predict when you'll have your baby, unless it's something scheduled like a c-section or induction for a medical reason. This will be my 6th. My first 3 babies, I sat at 3 cm dilated for 3 weeks, 70% effaced and ended up being induced from going to 41 wks. My last 2, weren't much different, I dilated to 4 cm and stayed there until my 39th week when I finally got to 5 and my midwife decided to induce me. Everyone is different though, some start dilating and continue to go into labor. Others like myself can dilate and walk around for weeks before active labor will start.
