Big baby??

FTM here, and a little confused lol. At my last ultrasound, which was at 30w and a couple days, they measured my baby boy at 5lb. They said he was really big, does that mean that there is a higher chance that I can go early? This boy is taking up my entire body lol.   I’ll be 34w Sunday, he’s running out of room!

Studies show that measurements taken that late in pregnancy via ultrasound aren’t super reliable. I know 3 people who were told they were having big babies and they all had average-sized babies. And a girl who was told her baby was measuring small and he was over 10lbs. Also as far as I know, size of baby doesn’t contribute to when you go into labor. It has more to do with how developed their little bodies are. 😊

I wouldnt say dont listen to them 🙄 it's either yes he is big or no he isnt. Having too much amniotic fluid can also make it seem like he or she is too big. At times they are right and others wrong.

Girl, if he’s measuring big don’t listen to the people that say the ultrasound are usually off because their pretty close most of the time! When I was overdue my son measured 10 pounds and 10 ounces and they didn’t think he was really going to be that big- SURPRISE he was 11 pounds and 2 ounces when he was born a couple days later. Hopefully they keep an eye on your babies growth and plan accordingly. They induced me and nothing was working, I had him by c section. You got this!
